Nancy Solway brings to her private classes the same expertise, commitment, and teaching skills she developed during her 20 years of teaching at George Brown College. Classes are located in Nancy’s studio, a small cottage in the heart of Toronto’s Annex neighbourhood, near Bathurst and Bloor.
Classes are limited to four students, and lessons focus on using the potters’ wheel. Nancy provides a great deal of hands on instruction in throwing, trimming, decorating and glazing in the 10 week program. Each student is provided with a wheel for the entire 3 hour class. Nancy enjoys working with beginners and novices, and those who come with particular throwing problems to resolve.
Nancy is also available as a consultant on studio design for those building both home studios and school or guild facilities.
Classes run Mondays and Tuesdays from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.
Cost for the 10 week session is $425 and includes all materials, firing and taxes. Sessions begin in September, January and April. Frequently Nancy teaches intensive 5 day summer sessions, a great way for students to immerse themselves in the potter’s way of life!
Street parking is available. Studio is 1 1/2 blocks from the Bathurst subway station.
