A major contributor to the Canadian pottery scene for over thirty years, Nancy Solway’s career has taken her from the countryside to the city of Toronto and from sculpture to functional pottery. In 1980 she co-founded Clay Design Studio Gallery in Toronto, still an artist-run urban landmark. She was a ceramics instructor at George Brown College for over twenty years and was a long time member of the Board of Directors of the Ontario Crafts Council. Nancy is one of five Canadians to appear in Peter Dormer’s book “The New Ceramics”.
Nancy now works and teaches pottery classes out of her garden studio in Toronto’s Annex neighbourhood. Her pottery is available from her directly, from Clay Design Studio/Gallery (at Harbord and Brunswick) and from the Guild Shop of the Ontario Crafts Council. Please send an email to join her mailing list for upcoming shows.
